The Cherry Barb (Rohanella titteya, formerly Puntius titteya) is a popular, peaceful freshwater fish endemic to Sri Lanka. Known for its vibrant red coloration—especially in males—it is a staple in the aquarium hobby and an excellent choice for beginners.

Diet & Behavior
Omnivorous: They readily accept high-quality flakes, pellets, and frozen or live treats like brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms.
Temperament: Highly peaceful. Unlike some other barbs (like Tiger Barbs), they are not known for fin-nipping.
Habitat: They prefer heavily planted tanks with plenty of hiding spots and low-to-medium water current to mimic their natural forest stream environment.
